A new poll released yesterday, October 7, 2010 by the Raul Labrador campaign http://www.labrador4idaho.com shows a drop in support for the Democrat incumbent Congressman Walt Minnick and for his republican opponent, Labrador, over a poll taken by the Mason-Dixon polling company and published in several Idaho newspapers last month.
The latest poll, commissioned by the Labrador for Idaho campaign and conducted by Bob Moore and Associates of Portland, Oregon; shows Minnick to 37%, falling 9% below the Mason-Dixon poll where he was at 46%; and having no gains since the last poll conducted by Moore. In the same Labrador went up by4% in the Moore poll but is 5% lower than in the Mason-Dixon poll where received 36% voter support
Undecided voters still account for 20% in the Moore poll and 16% in the Mason-Dixon poll. More surprisingly; however was the percentage of votes for other candidates. In the Mason-Dixon poll, Independent candidate Dave Olson and Libertarian Mike Washburn polled at 1% each. In the Moore poll, Olson and Washburn together accounted for 6% percent of the vote.
“I am delighted with the results of this poll and having them come from such an excellent pollster as Bob Moore proves what my campaign and I have known for weeks. The momentum is with us, the people are responding to my positive message,” said Raul Labrador.
Phil Hardy, Communications Director for Labrador for Idaho concluded, “This poll shows, without a shadow of a doubt, that the people of Idaho have rejected the twisted, negative advertising that Walt Minnick has filled our television screens with for the last four weeks. The people of Idaho want to hear about the issues that affect them and the more they listen to Raul Labrador, the more his support grows.”
The Moore and Associates poll of 300 First District Idaho voters was conducted October 5-6, 2010 and has an accuracy of plus or minus 6%.
