Washington State Attorney General Race is a Dead Heat

The race for Attorney General in Washington State is a statistical dead heat today. In fact, a majority of voters have not decided on a candidate in this match-up. Our recent survey of Washington voters shows 24% are supporting Republican Reagan Dunn, another 25% favor Democrat Bob Ferguson, while 8% would not choose either candidate and 44% are unsure.

“If the election for Attorney General was held today and the candidates were … for whom would you vote?”
Looking at the Attorney General ballot by party affiliation, Republicans widely favor Dunn, Democrats widely favor Ferguson, but almost three-in-four Independents are undecided. Regionally, Ferguson leads in King County, Dunn leads in Eastern Washington and the race is a dead heat in the rest of the state. Still, large numbers of voters remain undecided throughout the state.

This memo contains findings from a survey of Washington voters. Telephone interviews were conducted November 9-10, 2011 among a representative sample of 500 voters statewide. The potential sampling error associated with this survey is +/- 4% at the 95% confidence level.<- Go Back
