Case Studies

Congressman Cresent Hardy (NV-04)

Freshman Republican Cresent Hardy’s defeat of Democrat Steve Horsford in the 2014 general election was arguably one of the biggest surprises of the year. No one was betting on Hardy to unseat the Democrat incumbent in this Democrat-leaning district. Moore Information was privileged to be part of the Hardy team for this historic victory.

Congressman David Valadao (CA-21)

With Democrats holding a double-digit voter registration edge over Republicans in this district, David Valadao has always been a top target of national Democrats.  Moore Information has been a key part of the Valadao team since 2012 and our polling has helped him continue to prevail in this Democrat-leaning district, where roughly 45% of the voting population is Hispanic/Latino.

Congressman Greg Walden (OR-02)

Oregon’s only Republican member of Congress has relied on Moore Information for his campaign polling since first elected to the U.S. House in 1998, but we have been a part of Walden’s team since his years in the Oregon State Legislature. Walden has risen in the ranks and now holds the position of Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. Moore Information is honored to have been with the Congressman through each of his campaigns.

Congressman Mike Simpson (ID-02)

Incumbent Congressman and Moore Information client Mike Simpson faced a campaign ranked among the top ten races to watch in 2014. The Club for Growth played heavily in this district and went after Simpson early and often leading up to the Republican primary. Simpson was able to fend off his primary opponent and moved through the general to win re-election to his eighth term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Governor Butch Otter (ID)

Moore Information has been Otter’s pollster since 2000, when he moved from Lieutenant Governor to Congress, and through each of his successful gubernatorial campaigns. In 2014, Otter faced strong opposition in both the primary and general elections but prevailed to embark on a historic third term as Idaho’s governor.

U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan (AK)

In 2014, Republican Dan Sullivan emerged from a crowded, ideologically diverse field to win the GOP nomination and never looked back. He went on to defeat incumbent Democrat Mark Begich, in a hard-fought general election battle. In a state where polling doesn’t always align with actual election outcome, our sound methodology and sampling methods kept a finger on the pulse of this tight race and helped Republicans recapture this important seat in the U.S. Senate.

Governor Jan Brewer (AZ)

In January 2010, Arizona’s incumbent Governor Jan Brewer had a tough row to hoe.  Her first obstacle would be to get through a tough competitive primary election, in which early polling showed her trailing two GOP challengers and several potential Democrats.  However, armed with Moore Information polling data, the Brewer campaign team, led by Arizona HighGround’s Chuck Coughlin, set out to show voters that Brewer had plans to address major problems facing the state.  By May, when Arizona voters approved her Deficit Reduction Plan, Brewer had developed a clear lead in the GOP primary and gained equal footing against her Democrat opposition in general election ballot tests.  Following her signing of Arizona’s Immigration Law in July 2010, she moved into a solid lead over her Democratic opposition.  In November, Brewer won a solid victory over Attorney General Terry Goddard and led the entire GOP statewide slate to victory on the heels of her strong leadership.  Throughout the campaign, Moore Information provided the Brewer team with the polling data and strategic analysis that helped the Governor win reelection to her second term.
